This year we’re excited to shake and shimmy things up with a Dance-a-Thon. The Dance-a-Thon allows us to fund raise for all of our wonderful activities we have in store for next year it’s also a great way to celebrate with each other and get to know other UAD members!

There will be fun door prizes, face painting and some exciting mini-dance competitions like musical chairs, limbo and freeze dance where you can win too! We’ll be serving hot dogs, fries, chicken fingers, veggies and ice cream. Please let your group leader know if you have dietary restrictions that we can accommodate.

Please provide your RSVP to Celesta at celestagaba@gmail.com and include your family name and total headcount of attendees, and RSVP to your group leader by Monday, May 20, 2019.

If you are interested in helping or know of any students looking for volunteer hours please email celestagaba@gmail.com to be added to the volunteer list.

We can’t wait to see you all there!

T-21 Project, August 14, 2021 – CANCELLED @ Jackson Park
Aug 14 @ 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Photoshoot has been cancelled.

Hi Families,

UAD has been offered a wonderful opportunity to partner with Nikki Vos this summer, for photoshoots and more.

She is a first year photography student at Lambton College. She currently runs a small hobby photography business that focuses on providing affordable, quality photos to all families and individuals.

This summer, Nikki is hoping to work on a two part personal photography story project, The T-21 Project, ‘21. She wrote, “As someone who has been blessed with a family member with Down syndrome, the goal of the project is to highlight and share the stories of Ontario families who have also been blessed with a family member with Down syndrome. This project will provide families with an affordable way to represent their individuality and uniqueness.”

From Nikki:
“The first part of the project will include family or individual mini photoshoots, as well as a questionnaire form prior to the shoot. Part of the proceeds from the photoshoot will be donated back to your association. The second part will include putting together a photo story book that shares a variety of stories and photos from the families who have participated in the photoshoots. Families will be given the option to have their stories included, if desired, and UAD the WEDSA will be given the opportunity to use the books as a fundraiser.”

“I absolutely love Jackson Park, and think it would be perfect for this project! I’ve created an advertisement poster with the link for participant signup:

If you have any questions, please contact me.”

Thank you,

Nikki
