What a Dance! And such a joy for me to see so many members dancing and enjoying each others friendship, under the many coloured lights from the Party Rocker.

Thank you to Jody and her team for the Best Music ever, that kept the floor full of dancers all night long. Your Valentine Picture Wall for photo taking was a big hit too.

Thank you to Remily and Molly for the sweetest treats and snacks, plus the Valentine coloured tablecloths that brightened the atmosphere for a Splendid Valentine’s Night.

Thank you to Celesta for signing in all our guests with her welcoming smile.

Thank you to my family, Randy, Andrew and Aimee for helping to carry supplies and help with set up and take down.

Our set up thank you’s go out to Remily, Molly, Celesta, Jazzy, Jody and Team and all who helped taking everything down so quickly.

Thank you to all our parents and support workers for bringing your families out!

Film: Intelligent Lives @ Olde Walkerville Theatre
Apr 26 @ 5:30 pm

There will be a FREE screening of the documentary film Intelligent Lives. Please see the attached flyer and consider sharing it with people, families, colleagues and within your networks.

Award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib produced Intelligent Lives, a catalyst to transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation into a life of possibility for the most systematically segregated people in America. This film challenges what it means to be intelligent, and points to a future in which people of ALL abilities can fully participate in higher education, meaningful employment and intimate relationships.

Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of the central characters, three young adults with intellectual disabilities who challenge the perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. He does this through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Janice Fialka and Richard Feldman, parents of Micah Fialka-Feldman, who stars in the film.

We’ve included both the short trailer, and the extended trailer for your convenience.

Date: Friday, April 26th
Location: Olde Walkerville Theatre
1564 Wyandotte St E, Windsor, ON N9A 3L3

Doors open at 5:30pm
