Hello,

We, the Up About Down board members would like to take a few moments to express our gratitude towards you, our families for your enthusiastic participation during our bowling event this past weekend, on Sunday, November 4, 2018. It was a terrific experience and we are so thrilled that approximately 110 people showed up to share the fun, food and friendship with one another.

This is our vision…that we continue to make it a priority for our families and members to come together, to enjoy activities but also to feel comfortable to receive as well as to offer mutual support and understanding, depending on where we are in our journeys.

Let’s continue to keep our loved ones with Down syndrome at the center of our circle, enhancing their lives…and therefore our own.

Disability and Law Learning Series

Disability Equality Law Focus II:  Migrating to Canada as a PWD & Other Struggles

The series is open to the public and we hope that members of the disability community and their families, friends, and allies will be able to benefit from it. It’s well known that there is a legal maze that surrounds people with disabilities in everyday life. This seminar aims to provide information on a number of salient legal topics affecting people with disabilities through the lifecourse. The seminars will be delivered by law students. The sessions are not designed to provide legal advice.

Using Complaint Mechanisms Effectively for Disability-Related Issues will be held at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare in the Emara building, Chrysler Room – Beside Parking Lot D. They are being held in association with the Beyond Disability Rehabilitation Network.
